Turn off Update Notification for iPhoto

Hello, I keep getting update notifications for iPhoto even though I'm now running Photos, which I thought superseded it. I'm running OS X 10.11.5. I found some references to disabling it but it looks like that functionality changed in El Capitan.

iMac (17-inch Late 2006 CD), Mac OS X (10.6.8)

iPhoto is no longer sold at the AppStore and you can only update by reinstalling, and only, if it is associated with your AppleID at the AppStore.

Then you can update it by deleting it from the Applications folder and reinstalling from the Purchases tab of the AppStore.

Spotlight must not see iPhoto installed for this to work.
